Gene Roddenberry is probably best-known as the creator of Star Trek and Star Trek: The Next Generation. In the 1970s he also sketeched out some ideas for a new series he called Battleground: Earth. After Roddenberry's death his widow, Majel Barrett, discovered these documents and from them, developed Earth: Final Conflict. Roddenberry is also credited with writing the pilot episode, "Decision."
Roddenberry made a cameo appearance in the episode "Old Flame" in a photo on Dr. Belman's desk.
